Your taxes, prepared by a CPA — and reviewed by a CFP® professional.

One makes sure this year's return is right. The other looks beyond it — to what your taxes mean for your retirement and your wealth over time.

There's more in your return than a refund.

Most people skim their tax return and look at one thing: the number at the bottom — what they owe, or what they're getting back. It's understandable. But stopping there means missing what the return can actually tell you — where you could reduce your tax burden, this year and for years to come.

That's why we built Advisor Tax Prep around two professionals, not one. A CPA prepares your return. Then a CFP® professional reviews it — reading those same numbers as a planning document, not a receipt, and connecting your taxes to your investments and your retirement.

Here's one example. In a year when your income dips, it can make sense to convert some traditional IRA savings to a Roth IRA. Done at the right time, that move can lower the taxes you'll pay later — leaving more for the retirement you're working toward. A return-only preparer would likely never raise it. A CFP® professional reviewing your return will.

That's the difference: you don't just get an accurate return filed. You get a second set of eyes asking what your taxes mean for your bigger financial picture.

Why Advisor Tax Prep?

Two experts on your return, not one

Your return is prepared by a CPA and reviewed by a CFP® professional — a combination most preparers don't offer. The CPA gets this year's numbers right; the CFP® professional looks at what they mean for your investments and your retirement.

A long-term view, not just a filing

We don't stop at this year's refund. A CFP® professional looks for moves in your investment and retirement accounts that can lower your tax burden over time — opportunities a return-only preparer would never surface.

Tax notice & audit support

Up to $1,000,000 in services to help resolve any IRS or state tax notice, audit, or inquiry received within three years of the filing deadline.

Real people, not an 800 number

No call centers, no strangers, no being rushed out the door. You work with people who know your situation and take the time to walk through your return with you.

Accuracy guarantee

If an Advisor Tax Prep calculation error leads to an IRS or state penalty or interest charge, we'll reimburse you — and if your return is selected for an audit, we'll provide one-on-one support to help you through it.

Identity theft restoration

If you become a victim of identity theft, we'll help you restore your identity — including free daily credit monitoring from all three bureaus for six months after an ID theft report.

 FAQs

  • Most tax preparers stop at an accurate return. After a CPA prepares yours, a CFP® professional reviews it too — and that combination is where the real value is. A CPA makes sure this year's numbers are right; a CFP® professional looks at what those numbers mean for your retirement and your finances over the years ahead.

That review can surface opportunities a return-only preparer would never flag — keeping you in a lower tax bracket, timing an IRA or 401(k) distribution, using tax-efficient investments like municipal bonds, or timing deductible expenses like property taxes and charitable gifts to the years they help most.

It's not about chasing a bigger refund this year. It's about looking at your taxes over the long term — not just the current return.

  • If you have a very basic tax return and few investments, these alternative solutions are perhaps a better fit as a less expensive option for you. We’d still encourage you to give us a try, however, as working with Advisor Tax Prep offers many benefits.

One such advantage? The option to coordinate all your finances under one roof as a one-stop shop for your financial needs. You’ll also enjoy the expertise of a CPA and CFP® professional who will review your taxes, so you can rest assured you’re receiving guidance from top industry experts.

In addition—and even more importantly—we employ a much broader approach than the aforementioned services when reviewing your finances. You therefore won’t miss out on strategy suggestions or ideal moves to make within your investment and retirement accounts that will reduce your overall tax burden and help build your long-term wealth.
